Find out more about Maria Johnston, the healing arts practitioner behind subtle qi.

Maria Johnston
Maria Johnston has been a practitioner of the healing arts since 2000 and offers a variety of treatments that are transformative. The healing arts came into Maria’s life as a consequence of her own heath. A blessing in disguise, the healing arts allowed access to the latent ability to restore health while maintaining and building an inner store house of energy.
Through Subtle qi it is Maria’s passion to inspire her clients to nourish themselves in a way that fosters long term well being. This nourishment comes from the food that people eat and the thoughts and activities that are employed in life from moment to moment.
Maria received formal qualification and extensive studies in the traditional healing arts of Oriental Health Science under the guidance of Geoffrey Wilson, founder of Art of Health Australia. She then continued to refine her skills by completing an apprenticeship with Geoffrey at his busy practice in Sydney. Maria maintains a disciplined spiritual practice which is necessary to support her ongoing energy and vitality. In addition to this, Maria is a certified Yoga teacher enabling her to share her passionate understanding of the healing arts with people in a variety of ways.
At Subtle qi clients are encouraged to adopt spiritual practices that feed the soul, or in modern terms, the mind, body and spirit. When one is truly nourished only then is there the opportunity to connect to ones true nature and potential.
When you practice yoga you are preparing yourself for greater awareness and ultimately meditation. Physically when working with the asana (postures) we must practice witnessing ourselves. Watch as thoughts arise. Let go. Everything superfluous slips away. Faith comes. Yoga comes. - Sharon Gannon - Jivamukti Yoga
